Kick Off Your Shoes and Let Me Show You Around!

For those of you who might be wondering how we like our new living quarters, let me assure you that we are quite content. If you will come with me, I will give you the tour1

As you enter our new home, this is the view you would have of the living room. It is large and homey, but we rarely spend any time in it. About the only time we are in here is when we are watching t.v. which isn't very often. Other than that, we spend brief moments of time in here when we are playing tag with each other, which actually happens quite frequently. The kids love to run and play, because they can reach pretty high speeds in this home and not really have to worry about running into any "dead-ends". They can just run in circles all day long if they choose.

As you come through the living room and turn left you enter the hallway. First on the left is the Old Fogies Bedroom (I'll show it to you next), with Princess Bunny's room on the left at the end, Prince Bear Bear's on the right at the end and the main bathroom first on the right from this point of view. Come with me, please!

So here is where the "old folks" live. One of us has to jump nearly a foot to get into that thing, because it sits so high.......but it isn't me!

And this is where Her Highness, Princess Bunny rests here little head. She also spends a fair amount of time in here "imagining". She has a vivid imagination and when she chooses to, she can play constructively for long periods of time, even if she is alone.

And what Princess doesn't have a spectacular wardrobe? Prinsess Bunny has three aunts who insist that she be "properly" arrayed in all her splender! On most days she will dress up in at least one royal gown, and there are only very seldomly evenings that pass where she doesn't grace the ballroom floor with her delicate little dancing feet and twirling skirts!

Now, don't ask me why, but I can't show you the room where Prince Bear Bear resides. It might have something to do with the carpet that none of us particularly like, but for some reason, I have no photos to show you of his quarters at this time. So moving on to the main bathroom.

It is a lovely sight, isn't it?

As you come back down the hallway, towards the living room, you gain your first glance at the splendid dining hall, where we enjoy great food and happy times. Mama picked up this beautiful dining set, complete with the buffet for $150. It was well worth it.

If you will step with me right through this doorway, I will show you where we spend most of our time. This is the entrance to the kitchen from the dining room.

Before I show you the kitchen, let me show you our very comfy family room. It is here, on that couch that we read scriptures every morning as a family, and there on that floor that we kneel together in family prayer morning and night (btw, I highly recommend those two activities). Mama loves that while she prepares yummy meals, the kids can be playing nearby, but not under feet.

And it is there at that desk that I prepared this blog post that you are now reading. We love out new desk. We love that we can fit the monitor on it!!!

So now if you will turn around, you will see the kitchen where Mama spends so much of her time, making delicious meals and doing "learning" activities with Bunny. Mama, loves that she can look outside while she does dishes. She has always talked about how she wants to be able to look out the window while she is standing at the sink. She also loves the island part of the counter. It is there that we eat breakfast together as a family almost every morning (another activity I highly recommend).

The door which you see in the right edge of the kitchen picture leads outside to a beautiful, and spacious screened in porch. There we can sit and relax on a couch while the kids play and enjoy themselves. This next three pictures are from inside looking out.

So then the only things left to see are the half bathroom which is right off of the family room, and just inside the entrance of from the garage, and the garage itself. That's what these next two photos are of.

Well, I hope you have enjoyed touring our new residence.

  1. Nice new abode -- we have the same picture of Christ in our living room, love all the vases for decor, and all those dressy dress-ups would be heaven for any young girl! :), tell Grit "that dining set was a real find!" Cute 'True Grit' sign, nice big kitchen!, and that would be great to have a screened in porch to put the kids toys in :) Can you leave them (toys & kids :) there in winter too?
